Fluxed uses a WebAssembly build of FFmpeg, the established media toolkit, inside a worker. The relatively large conversion engine is requested only when you open the audio workflow and begin using it, rather than slowing every Fluxed page. Once cached, it is available for later offline conversions. Choose an output format and quality appropriate for your target: MP3 and AAC are practical for sharing, FLAC preserves lossless audio, and WAV is useful for editing. Batch mode handles several tracks without a server queue or daily quota. Local processing is especially valuable for voice notes, interview recordings and unreleased music because no third-party conversion service receives the content. Conversion speed varies with duration, codec and your device processor.
Traditional cloud converters upload a file to a remote system before processing it. Fluxed instead uses browser APIs, Web Workers and WebAssembly (WASM) inside the browser sandbox. Your operating system gives the page access only to files you explicitly select, and the conversion output is created locally. There is no account, analytics script or tracking cookie. After the required app assets have been cached, supported workflows can also run offline.
